Biking In The Smokies

Biking in The Smokie Mountains

Bicyclists can ride on most roads in the park, but some roads may not be safe because they are narrow and there may be heavy automobile traffic. Cades Cove Loop is a great 11-mile road for bicycling. There is much wildlife to be seen and 19th century home sites. Beginning the second week in May, the loop road is closed to motor vehicle traffic Wednesday and Saturday mornings until 10:00 a.m. to allow bicyclists and pedestrians to enjoy the cove. This closure continues to the second-to-last Saturday in September. The State of Tennessee requires that children age 16 and under wear a helmet.

There are so many bicycling routes in the Great Smoky Mountains, it may be hard to make your mind up where to start. Let us help you find a route that fits your desire.
