Wilderness at the Smokies
Developers plan on a $100 million dollar
upscale development with a 52000 square foot indoor water park. Wilderness
at the Smokies will locate on hwy. 66 between interstate 40 and downtown
Sevierville. Plans are to construct a 234 room hotel, to open June 2008. A
241,000 square foot Sevierville Events Center to open September 2007. 1st
Quarter 2009 160 condominiums near the events center. Condos will range
between 400 and 1200 Square feet. Pete Hellend Jr. owner of The Wilderness
at the Smokies hopes to attract 6000 people a day.
This annual event occurs in the middle of May and has become a Great Smoky
Mountain observance for locals as well as visitors to the area.
Sevierville welcomes , "Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World" 150,000
square feet to shop for the latest in outdoor accessories.
